Tailout Brewing Beer Labels

Personal nutrition and fitness consulting/coaching

ROLES: Graphic Design + Illustration

ABOUT THE PROJECT: In 2023 RED Mountain Resort and Tailout Brewing collaborated on a hazy session IPA to celebrate spring skiing, aptly named Party Laps. I was tasked to design the can art. Following the success of the first collab beer, RED and Tailout released a summer version called Stoked Spokes to enjoy on the deck after a day of mountain biking.

RESULTS: Party Laps became a best seller at the resort and local liquor stores, credited to the can’s vibrant label and great taste. Stoked Spokes was also a hit on the RED Deck at summer events. The locals enjoyed the references to the town of Rossland on each of the cans, some of which peeled their labels off and used them as a sticker.

SKILLS:

Party Laps

About The Design: The overall essence I was getting at with this design was the fun shenanigans of spring-time party laps with your friends on a nice sunny afternoon. I pulled in bright vibrant neon colors as a reference to both the Pit Viper-wearing neon party-time skier, as well as the vibrant sunsets the region is known for. Smiling hops and kegs fly past smiling trees on a Pit Viper-wearing mountain. The label also features RED’s oldest chairlift, prominent buildings in town, a Rossland dog (of course) and the town’s statue of Olaus holding a beer with… yes, you know it, Pit Vipers.

Stoked Spokes

About The Design: For the Stoked Spokes design, on top of the mandatory stoked mountain biker, I added in imagery that referenced popular mountain bike trails in the area (Dragon Tail, Boneyard, Gold Digger, Pilgrim, Blue Elephant), as little Easter Eggs for the local mountain biking community.
